Papers of Lexow include manuscript speeches, correspondence, legislative acts, clippings, and memorabilia, 1894-1898. A large part of the correspondence consists of letters from his constituents and others affected by legislation and concern investigation of New York City police, taxes, legislative bills, appointments and positions, and invitations to give speeches; other correspondence includes letters between Lexow and his wife Katherine Morton Ferris Lexow, 1878-1910, letters between Lexow and his daughter Caroline Lexow Babcock, 1869-1909, and some miscellaneous correspondence concerning personal property and business matters. Other items include photocopies of the papers of his daughter Caroline Lexow Babcock, 1912-1915, concerning her activities with the Nyack branch of the Women's Political Union, other suffrage activities, and her interest in peace; original letters between Caroline and her brother Morton Lexow on personal news and their historical interests, 1947-1950; minutes of the Charity Organization Society, Nyack branch, 1897-1900, in which Katherine Lexow was involved; deeds, title abstracts, mortgages, leases, contracts, and maps, 1822-1887, relating to property in Nyack, Spring Valley, and Clarkstown; and the typescript text and photographic illustrations of Isabelle K. Savell's biography of Clarence K. Lexow, POLITICS IN THE GILDED AGE, 1984.
